Aos Pachecos deste mundo...

"In fact - what did I know about real societies? About, say, French society? I had sociology degrees, I read Le Monde every day, quite often the New York Times, and Time, and The Observer. But I had never set foot in a factory; I had never had to look for a job to make a living. I had never worked in a private firm either. From my sociological readings I knew many things about 'society'; but what I knew was, somehow, irrelevant to real societies. I began to become conscious of my ignorance".
